Interesting...

I am very open about my feeling for Kanye West's steelo. His first album was classic, too many skits, but classic. Second album had some bangers but middle of the road for sure. Third album flopped, fuck sales. The music was innovative and creative but he went the same direction that most artists go. They distance themselves so far from what made them what they are and get lost in being too creative. If that makes any sense at all. And by the time they realize, wow, I swam too far from the edge, it's too late. And then they come with an album that is supposed to be The Best Album Ever. Just like Mos Def with The New Danger or Nas with Street Disciple. Anyways. The reason I decided to type this was because of Kanye's performance last night on the VMA's. Very subtle and light. I'm not a fan of the vocoder or auto-tune but I think this is going to be an interesting album for Kanye. But I'm calling this shit right now. He is going to go off on some Kid Cudi type singin shit.
