New Sandwich Spot Found!

Now, if you have ever even visited this blog by accident one time or another then you know I have 3 loves in my life. My family,hip hop and food. And I am a passionate person! So you already know that when I find a spot worthy of passing on then it has to be good. And this spot is.

This spot is called Gyro Express and it is located on the NW corner of Parker and Ave K on the east side of Plano. It is attached to a car speaker system installation place and was formerly a taqueria. I initially stopped for some tacos but to my surprise saw Gyro and demanded the wife pull over. So I ran in and honestly thought I went into the wrong door because it's just a long hallway with a 2 foot by 2 foot window you order thru. The inside of the place was amazingly kept. The grill and vent-a-hood was super shiny and everything looked very sanitary. So don't worry about that. So I ordered the chicken gyro with fries and a drink and tipped the guy a couple of bucks because he just opened last Wednesday. But the total before tip was 6.48. I mean come on now. EXCELLENT Prices. So I chatted with the guy for a while as the food was cooking and snapped some shots of the place too. After he boxed up the food wifey and I took off and tore into this hot pita and chicken combination. It was EXCELLENT. Now, the fries could have used some salt and pepper no doubt but the Gyro was amazing. And the ice cold canned Dr. Pepper really set it off with that freezing cold carbonated kick. Yum. I will def. be back to this place when I can get around to it. I give this place 4 out of 5 stars.

Oh yeah, they even offer free delivery and a drive-thru.

Me and my boy Rico rolled down to hit this ill little taco joint in Garland. Shit is hittin for REAL. Average priced at $1.35 a taco and $1.99 for a Jarrito. You can't really go wrong with the beef fajita meat on corn tortillas with lime, cilantro and onions with the green salsa. If you live in the area or are ever around make sure you pop into Gloria's. Not the Gloria's that is off the Tollway in Addison or the one in Frisco either. This one is the hood, kinda. You can also pop into the Thrift City across the way for an old London Fog sweater to match the new kicks you copped at the DK Fashion just a block up.

Now these tacos are the shit, don't get me wrong, but they really are not even close to the tacos at Fuel City. So with that being said I would definitely give Gloria's a 4 out of 5 Jalapeno's with 5 being perfect.

Big fan of course. OB4CL is mos def a classic. You already know the deal. I actually got my hands on the HIGHLY anticipated OB4CL2 yesterday and it is RAW as fuck. Raekwon has brought hip hop back to were it needs to be IMO. It doesn't have that raw gritty feel that Part 1 had to it BUT it is a fuckin banger. He connected with a bunch of heads to make this what it is. Examples. Ghostface,Meth,Jada,GZA,Beanie Sigel, Busta, Dilla, Pete Rock and MANY MORE! Shit is NASTY.

Go Get the album September 8th. I'm not 100% this is an instant classic but I will with out a doubt give it 4.25 out of 5 stars. I'm sure it will grow on me more and I will be forced to give it a 5. The Wu is back!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Former NFL quarterback Steve McNair was shot multiple times, including once in the head, and a pistol was discovered near the body of the 20-year-old woman found dead with him Saturday in a downtown condominium.

Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron identified the woman as Sahel Kazemi, whom he called a "friend" of McNair's. She had a single gunshot wound to the head.

Police said the 36-year-old McNair was found on the sofa in the living room, and Kazemi was very close to him on the floor. Aaron said the gun was not "readily apparent" when police first arrived.

Autopsies were planned for Sunday.

Aaron said McNair's wife, Mechelle, is "very distraught."

"At this juncture, we do not believe she is involved," he said. "Nothing has been ruled out, but as far as actively looking for a suspect tonight, the answer would be no."

The bodies were discovered Saturday afternoon by McNair's longtime friend Wayne Neeley, who said he rents the condo with McNair.

Aaron said Neeley told authorities he went into the condo, saw McNair on the sofa and Kazemi on the floor but walked first into the kitchen before going back into the living room, where he saw the blood.

Neeley then called a friend, who alerted authorities.

Police said a witness saw McNair arrive at the condo between 1:30 and 2 a.m. Saturday and that Kazemi's vehicle was already there.

Two days ago, Nashville police arrested Kazemi on a DUI charge while driving a 2007 Escalade registered to her and McNair. McNair was in the front seat, but didn't break the law and was allowed to leave by taxi.

Alright I am a HUGE video game player in case you haven't noticed and I have recently touched on Skate and Skate 2 for the Xbox 360. Today I wanna break it down for you 98 style, 1 TIME!

Tribes is a game that test your skills on both the X and Y axis. That's right, you pick three weapons a jet pack as well as a "specialty pack" and go to war. Now, there are different variations of Tribes, but the one that I suggest is Tribes Base Mod Duel. Argh's Server to be exact. The game is very fast paced, extremely fun, wide open and will make or break most of your "gamers" out there. It sounds easy but each duel is like a snowflake. They are NEVER the same. The maps are wide open with hills and blue skies and the occasional structure or pillar here or there.

My best friend 200mg or 350lb have been tearing this shit up for years now. I think I have been playing regularly for 4-5 years while he was on this shit when it dropped. And of all these years and duels we FINALLY ended in a draw/tie last night. It is IMPOSSIBLE to tie. We did it twice. In a row. See shots below.

Now the other awesome things about Tribes is it is free. Click Here For More Info. If you do download it you will also need the patch from 1.8 to 1.11 OR the 1.30 patch. Will unless you have been living under a rock than you know that Michael Jackson has officially passed away as of yesterday. It is crazy that 3 iconic American figures passed away within a week. I am too young to remember the Farrah craze as well as Carson/McMahon but I do remember Michael Jackson. I remember him well. I was introduced to MJ in the mid 80's with the hit "Beat It". I remember my dad and myself being HUGE Van Halen fans in the 80's and Eddie Van Halen was THAT GUY! And when my Dad heard Eddie on the MJ track we started listening to it and so the crazy began. For real, I had it ALL. Buttons, books, tapes and even a Barbie doll. no homo. But seriously, I caught Michael fever as a kid and carried it on until the 2000's. Some of my favorite memories of Michael def. include, the Superbowl performance, the premier of the Black or White video starring Macaulay Caulkin and the Bad video/song. I also really liked the Thriller video even tough Thriller came a few years before me. The dude was TRULY a genius and the biggest musician of my generation/era. I wish people would stop being so hateful with the child molestation allegations. We need to all remember him for his impact on the music industry. He is one of the only, if not the ONLY musician to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame TWICE. Either way, we love you Michael and thank you for being such a HUGE influence on modern music. You will be missed dearly.

Not sure if I blogged about this movie in the past when I saw it or not, but, The Wackness is an ill look into a NY teenager trying to keep his head above water. Juggling family financial issues as well as falling for one of his customer's daughters. Shit is kinda ill. Method Man made an appearance in the movie as well. Which I thought was funny because this movie takes place in the mid-90's and when the kid goes in to talk with Meth "The What" from Ready to Die is playing and the kid is like DAMN this is fire, what is this? And then Meth explains it's the new kid on the block, Biggie. Kinda funny how the track they chose to play in the background was the one that had him on it. Anyways, for the most part the movie is so so. Kinda corny but hip hop plays a big part in the movie which made it catch my eye. Def. worth the rental.

But my whole reason of posting this is becuase I came across a mixtape that was released as a promo item for the movie during its screening process. It's all the tracks that DIDN'T make the movie. This weekend wifey and I and the baby went to Go Go Burger. I read about it online and heard nothing but good things. The thing that caught my attention was the Milkshakes. We'll get to those in a second. But the burger was very good and CHEAP. I went "wild" and got the triple burger with cheese and onions. I opted out on the jalapeno bun because I planned on sharing it with my little girl. I didn't give her a chance to taste mine. Sorry Charlie. :(. After tasting the burgers I went for the hand cut fries. YUM!! EXTREMELY GOOD!!! So were the tater tots. They tasted like deep fried hashbrowns. After tearing up all of that I went for the Twinkie Milkshake. Yes, it is a Twinkie Milkshake. Made with real twinkies and ice cream as well as whipped cream. It was INCREDIBLE!! It was like a drinkable Twinkie. Little bits of twinkie in every sip and a half twinkie on top of it all. Wifey got the Sno-Ball one. It was AWESOME too. Overall I give this burger joint an 8.5 out of 10. Parking was kinda shitty and the dining area was tiny. Very hip and family friendly all at once. Can't wait till my boy 200 gets back in town so we can take him there. Peace. OH YEAH. The Bendy Straws were a nice touch too.

Man, I have said it before and I will remind you of it now before you get the wrong idea of this next post. I like art, I am not an expert and I do not claim to be. Every great once in a while I will stumble across something that will catch my eye that I will actually "Get" or "Understand". At least I think I do. So, with that being said check out this fucking guy. Joshua Hoffine . He has actually captured and reproduced "childhood fears" or at least his rendition of them. He is fucking dope. Some of these are dark and some what demented, but worth the look for sure. My personal favorites are the Clown one and the Gas Mask. I am not really afraid of clowns. But the thought of being captivated and forced to wear a gas mask scares the fucking shit out of me.

So I just watched Dark Days on Netflix Instant. Shit was DOPE. DJ Shadow did the music and the filming was cold blooded. They used a 16mm Kodak black and white. It was grainy at times but bearable. This movie is 9 years old but for some reason I am just now finding out about it. Read More Below.

Dark Days is a documentary made by Marc Singer, a British filmmaker. The film follows a group of people living in an abandoned section of the New York City underground railway system, more precisely the area of the so called Freedom Tunnel. When he relocated from London to Manhattan, Marc Singer was struck by the number of homeless people he had seen throughout the city. Singer had befriended a good number of New York's homeless and later, after hearing of people living underground in abandoned tunnel systems, he met and became close to a group of people living in The Freedom Tunnel community stretching north from Penn Station past Harlem. After living with them for a number of months, he decided to create a documentary in order to help them financially. The film's crew consisted of the subjects themselves, who rigged up makeshift lighting and steadicam dollies, and learned to use a 16mm camera with black & white Kodak film. Singer himself had never been a filmmaker before, and saw the production of Dark Days as a means of gaining better accommodation for the residents of the tunnel. The post-production process took years, as financial difficulties created delays, as did Singer's insistence of creative control to protect the tunnel residents.

During filming, Amtrak announced they would be forcibly evicting the homeless living in the tunnels. This announcement, plus the police presence backing the decision, prompted Singer and photographer Margaret Morton to go to the Coalition for the Homeless for help. Eventually, Singer and Morton managed to secure housing vouchers from the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the film's subjects, which enabled them to move out of the tunnels and into their own apartments.

The film features music by DJ Shadow, including excerpts from Endtroducing... as well as his album with U.N.K.L.E. Melissa Neidich was the editor of the film. Cinevision, a New York City camera shop, supplied Singer with cameras for the two-and-a-half years of filming. When Singer ran out of money for film, Kodak supplied free damaged film for the project.

Dark Days was released in 2000, and was nominated for several film festival awards. The film won many of these, including the Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary Feature, Best Documentary/Non-fiction film at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards, Senior Programmer's Pick at the SXSW Film Festival Awards, and three Sundance Film Festival awards in 2000: the Audience Award for best documentary, the cinematography award for documentary, and the Freedom of Expression Award.
